Historical costumes

I create high quality historical costumes. To achieve a convincing historical replica it is important to use the right cut (actual historical patterns) and adequate materials. As difficult as it sometimes is to make a costume look like it time travelles here, these are the two most important aspects.
Sewing by hand or not can make a difference also, but we all have to manage our time and money, don’t we? So depending on the project I might use a sewing machine although I prefer using the historical techniques.
Natural fashion

My goal is to make all my creations as sustainable as possible. Modern ones and historical replicas. For a Tailor the choice of material is the most important aspect to sustainability. So I make my creations plastic free (including thread, closures and interlining). That way I can composte them and give the materials back to nature, after a long life.
And I think the past is an excellent source for how to sew a garment, when you don’t want to use plastic interfacing or Elasthan fabrics. There’s so much to explore.
So follow me along when I try out historical techniques on modern garments to create the wardrobe of my dreams: Looking exactly how I want it to, FITTING, no compromise on sustainability, easiliy adjustable to a changing body, high quality and durable.
